How should I install a stretched/bar display in narrow or confined spaces?

If you’ve ever tried to squeeze a standard monitor into a retail shelf or a narrow elevator cove, you know it’s a recipe for a headache. That’s where the

stretched bar display comes in. These ultra-wide screens are the "secret weapon" for modern architects and digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertisers,

but they come with their own set of rules.

Installing ultra-wide LCD signage in a tight spot isn't just about making it fit; it’s about making sure it survives. Here is how to handle a

stretched bar display installation like a pro.

1. Don't Suffocate Your Hardware

The killer of electronics in narrow space digital signage is heat. In a confined cabinet, there’s nowhere for the air to go. Even though a bar display is thin,   it still generates heat from the backlight. Instead of jamming the screen flush against the back wall, leave a "breathing gap" of at least 20mm. If you're

working with a completely sealed enclosure,   you’ll need to look at heat dissipation for LCD setups, likely by adding a small intake fan at the bottom and

an exhaust at the top. Remember: heat rises, so don't trap it at the top of your narrow pillar.

2. Solving the Mounting Puzzle

Standard brackets usually won’t work here. You’ll often find yourself looking for a VESA 100x50 mount or a custom 400x100mm pattern because these screens are so short.

When you're dealing with bar type display mounting, I always recommend "pop-out" or "scissor" mounts if you are recessing the screen into a wall.

Why? Because eventually, someone will need to get to the cables. If the screen is fixed and recessed, you'll have to tear down the wall just to reset a HDMIplug. A pop-out mount saves you hours of labor down the road.

4. Why Panel Choice Matters

If you are placing a display in a corridor, people will be walking past it, viewing it from sharp angles. If you use a cheap panel, the colors will shift and disappear. This is why VETO LCD uses high-grade IPS technology. You need that 178-degree viewing angle so your content looks as sharp

from the side as it does from the front.

5. Think About Future Access

The best retail shelf edge display setups are the ones designed for easy maintenance. Whether you’re using VETO LCD hardware for a transit hub or a

boutique shop, ensure your mounting solution allows for "front-service." If a technician can’t fix it in five minutes, the installation wasn't planned correctly.
